We have proven job after job that early planning and the use of prefabricated spools is not only fast, efficient and accurate, but also allows the client to be assured a superior finished installation.

Midstates’s fabrication, warehouse and office facility is located on a 4 1/2 acres site with 58,000 square feet of indoor manufacturing and warehouse space along with additional covered outside fabrication with preassembly and staging areas.
Fabrication Services

One of the more critical elements in the success of any construction project is the utilization of sheet metal and pipe fabrication. Midstate Mechanical is well known for its leadership in metal fabrication and piping “prefabrication.” Midstate is constructing one of the region’s largest and best tooled manufacturing facilities. Whether the client’s issue is cost savings, job site restrictions, enhanced QA/QC, or the logistics of building design, our fabrication teams are fully integrated into all phases of our business. From maintaining schedules to manpower utilization, our fabrication capability is one of our key services.

Our clients have benefited from the quality and efficiencies realized through the use of our fabrication philosophy.

Sheet Metal Fabrication

The sheet metal fabrication facility is equipped with the latest state of the art automated fabrication equipment to include a complete coil line for manufacturing rectangular sections of duct in both lined and unlined sections. This equipment has the capacity to manufacture duct in all of the standard SMACNA gauges. This equipment also has the ability to cut and form 16 gauges Kitchen grease duct. In addition, the shop has two plasma tables, a 5’ X 20’ feed by a 4 station coil feed that allows us to switch between gauges very quickly. The second plasma table is a 5’ X 10’ manual loading that is utilized for specialty fabrication. The shop also contains power breaks, roll and lock forming equipment, automated duct lining equipment for applying insulation glue and pinning.

Our sheet metal fabrication capacity is well over 3,000,000 of duct per year (a typical 4-story office building that has a roof top VAV system would use 100,000 pounds, a 15-story high rise condo would have about a 120,000 pounds of metal)

Our sheet metal fabrication (CAM) is supported and scheduled through a shared database with our estimating system and CAD. This database holds our current material prices and productivity rate. When a project is drawn in our CAD system it can be automatically downloaded to our fabrication equipment while at the same time produce a labor and material budget. Midstate Mechanical is the only mechanical contractor in Arizona that is utilizing technology that ties CAD / CAM / Estimating together for manufacturing purposes.

Plumbing Fabrication

Our plumbing fabrication (CAM) is supported and scheduled through a shared database with our estimating system and CAD. From our CAD drawings we are able to produce spool drawings for restroom groups and other plumbing assemblies. The spool drawings provide a complete list of material and parts needed. Also included is a complete cut list for the pipe that is needed to complete the assembly. The pipe shop is equipped with the latest modern cutting and assembly equipment. With our 4½ acre site, if needed, we can pre-build and stage complete systems and our assemblies, before a project has even broke ground.

Piping Fabrication

Our piping fabrication (CAM) is supported and scheduled through a shared database with our estimating system and CAD. From our CAD drawings we are able to produce spool drawings for individual equipment hook ups. The spool drawings provide a complete list of material and parts needed. Also included is a complete cut list for the pipe that is needed to complete the assembly. This allows us to pre-cut and pre-stage material needed to build and install systems in the shop and the field. The pipe shop is equipped with the latest high-tech cutting, welding and grooving equipment. With our 4 ½ acre facility, if needed, we are able to pre-build and stage complete systems and our assemblies, before a project has even broken ground.
