  • Read/interpret contract documents, architectural, structural and mechanical drawings
  • Read/interpret submittals and shop drawings
  • Perform layout and installation of sheet-metal focused items and materials
  • Install, update, troubleshoot and/or repair trade-specific/project-specific assignments
  • Perform other trade-specific assignments and tasks

 

To be considered, you will have:

Journeyman Level:  Have a high school diploma or GED AND at least five (5) years of recent, relevant experience in your trade, closely related responsibilities OR any combination of education and/or recent, relevant experience to perform the job duties of this position.  City of Phoenix Journeyman License required along with OSHA 10 Hr.

Foreman Level:  Have a high school diploma or GED AND at least seven (7) years of recent, relevant experience in your trade in the commercial sector, closely related responsibilities OR any combination of education and/or recent, relevant experience to perform the job duties of this position.  City of Phoenix Journeyman License required along with OSHA 30 Hr.

You must possess all tools required to perform assigned job duties.

You must be able to lift and/or carry heavy, bulky supplies, materials and other items weighing up to 80 pounds, climb ladders and utilize your own standard hand tools.

You will be exposed to extreme weather and other environmental conditions associated with work on a construction site.

You MUST have reliable transportation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND BASIC DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Assist the Shop Foreman with the fabrication and pre-fabrication of HVAC duct systems.

FABRICATION PROCESSES

  • Fabrication in all areas of the Sheet Metal shop as directed; Coil Line & Fitting Assembly, Roll Form, Liner, and Turning Vane & Hardware.
  • Read and interrupt duct labels for material processes.
  • Possess all tools to perform work assigned.
  • Verify and confirm all shop cut sheets with the proper fabrication specifications and processes.
  • Meet and excel production goals set by the Shop Foreman.
  • Knowledge and ability to use all related Sheetmetal Fabrication equipment

PRE-FAB PROCESSES

  • Assist in the pre-fabrication of HVAC duct systems as directed by Shop Foreman
  • Build HVAC duct systems by the reading of blueprints and coordinating fabrication components to CAD/manual takeoffs
  • Meet and excel prefabrication goals set by the Shop Manager.

TRAINING

  • Continued Education and trade related training in; Coil line, Plasma Table Operations, Duct Fabrication Standards & Duct Fabrication software.
  • Attend all safety training classes required

HOUSEKEEPING

  • Perform general housekeeping duties as directed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inform Shop Foreman of any problems or concern’s related to his/her duties or/and work processes.
  • Attend all Sheet Metal Shop safety and production meetings as required
  • Follow all Midstate Mechanical employee and safety procedures
  • Communicate in a professional manner with co-workers and office personnel.
  • Keep track of daily shop inventory by tracking material used

To meet our increasing business commitments, we need the Best of the Best to fill a CAD Drafter/Designer position. Experienced level designer must be able to draft and design all aspects of piping and plumbing.

As our Cad Drafter/Designer, you will be part of a dynamic team with responsibilities to, among other tasks:

Perform duties of CAD Designer Entry

  • Drafting and designing all aspects of, Piping or Plumbing as required per project specifications and demands, with little or no instruction and supervision.
  • Will play an important role in the completion of projects.
  • A complete understanding of AutoCAD, CADmep, Navisworks and any other design software, as well as excellent design skills associated with the respective trade.
  • Able to coordinate effectively with other trades as well as other members of the staff with no direct supervision.
  • Take part in meetings and lead the coordination efforts. Will have a solid understanding of coordination among the trades to detect collisions and problems in the 3D drawing environment.
  • Able to correct problems and generate RFIs with the design team.
  • Ability to work with trade foreman, PM, Purchasing and Shop.
  • Willingness to take total control and responsibility for projects.
  • Develop cost saving measures within projects.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Able to coordinate the downloading of duct, pipe or plumbing with the field managers of each trade and produce drawings or documents needed for pre-fabrication and field installation
  • Understanding of process between estimating and operations to perform daily operations

 

To be considered, you will have:
A high school diploma OR equivalent AND at least 2 to 6 years of direct AutoCAD design capabilities.
