Successfully develop client/owner relationship that result in the sale and implementation of HVAC projects in assigned markets and territory at company approved pricing standards. Develop assigned key accounts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND BASIC DUTIES
Ability to close total annual factored sales at predetermined levels.
Ability to qualify prospects, make effective sales presentations, answer questions and objections in a proficient and responsible manner, and aggressively manage quotes to close sales.
Ability to plan and efficiently schedule appointments. Manage time to assure maximum productivity and responsiveness to customer’s time schedules.
SURVEYS AND PRICING:
Ability to appraise and survey mechanical systems to determine operations requirements. Ability to interpret drawings, equipment, and job conditions. Properly apply company pricing policy utilizing the company’s pricing system.
Ability to increase existing customer account size.
Ability to identify prospects in assigned market. Promptly follow up on leads and referrals. Establish customer rapport and identify needs. Maintain an active backlog of quotes to assure booking goal is consistently met.
Promptly address customer concerns to assure resolution and maintain long-term positive relationships.
MECHANICAL SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE:
Have sufficient understanding of mechanical systems to accurately appraise and inventory system components, evaluate general conditions an issue proposals. Be able to recognize project opportunities and pass leads to appropriate personnel.
SALES PRESENTATION STRATEGY:
Understand prospect’s organization and decision-making process. Anticipate and answer objections. Commit the prospect to a decision making timetable.
CREDIT AND COLLECTIONS:
Understand credit policy. Feedback information and observations to the Company to minimize risk exposure. Understand collection policy and interface with customer to resolve collection issues and assure prompt payment.
Build and maintain rapport and positive working relations with field, office, and management personnel to resolve problems, execute on opportunities, and maximize profits.
Build rapport and productive working relationships with customers, vendors, and other outside agents. Effectively represent the company’s interests to outside agents to maximize profits.
Participate, when appropriate, with operations in vendor selection, timely purchase, and delivery to assure prompt customer service.
In a timely fashion, prepare complete, clear, and concise reports, proposals, booking packages, and required company paperwork. Maintain written supportive information relative to delays, changes and special conditions, schedules, etc.
Provide support for any and all tasks as assigned by your manager. These tasks, at the determination of your manager, may or may not become part of this position’s primary responsibilities.
Submit your Expense and Vehicle reports on the first work day of the month (ongoing).
Submit next week’s plan and call report at the weekly sales meeting. Attach this week’s call results report to next week’s weekly plan report (ongoing.)
Submit all sold project paperwork within one working day from date of sales (ongoing).
Complete all pricing forms properly and completely using standard pricing procedures (ongoing).
Prepare and maintain the weekly quotation plan and booking plan report forms. Review at each weekly Plan and Review meeting (ongoing).
Report customer complaints to your manager immediately (ongoing).
Keep customer, your manager, and project manager informed as to progress and resolution of complaints (ongoing).
Maintain good customer rapport (ongoing).
Learn enough about the customer’s business so you may be of the utmost help to them (ongoing).
Continue to pursue customers for other projects (ongoing).
Always behave diplomatically to prevent conflict (ongoing).
Document all complaints in writing (immediately).
Participate in your customer’s social activities (ongoing).
Advise your manager when V.I.P. customers are in town (ongoing).
Keep your manager informed of your major activities (ongoing).
Notify your manager of all extraordinary customer social activities (each time).
Notify your manager of problems beyond your control as soon as possible (ongoing).
Utilize the company’s expertise for special cases which you cannot handle (ongoing).
To be considered the you will have: :
A high school diploma OR equivalent AND at least 5 years of HVAC sales or other related experience. Basic understanding of HVAC, general office procedures, and record keeping functions. Knowledge of all related computer applications. Must have a basic understanding of mechanical systems and their operation.
